A NOTE ON BRASS: The unfinished brass changes colors as it ages, developing a slight patina. If you prefer the look of bright brass, any commercial brass cleaner or polish will work well on these pieces. The jewelers brass I use is an alloy of mostly copper with a bit of zinc. Copper has been used against the skin for centuries as a medicinal treatment for things like headaches and arthritis, but it has also been known to leave a green mark on some peoples skin, which is a natural reaction and nontoxic (except for those with allergies to specific metals). This is very common and no cause for alarm. While the inside of the rings can be coated with clear nail polish or varnish to prevent this from happening, I prefer to leave the rings chemical-free and allow the wearer to make that decision.
